ʻĀlapa Alakaʻina – Athlete Leadership

'Ālapa Alaka'ina was started in the fall of 2023 as a tricampus effort to provide our student-athletes with a platform to learn invaluable 'ike surrounding 'ōiwi leadership and how it pertains to E Ola! Outcomes through sport. Members of the hui were nominated by their head coach and participate in monthly meetings to develop their own identity and become an alaka'i within their teams that are grounded in Native Hawaiian and Christian values. Student-athletes will attend the annual tricampus Student Athlete Advisory Committee Summit that will rotate amongst the three campuses.
