A huge disappointment of a great licence. V was one of the best things on TV in the 80's and what should have been a great action game is a repetitive and really frustrating puzzler. The graphics are pretty decent however and the Impossible Mission style Donovan sprite is okay, but its all just so joyless. And where were the lizards????

How I loved the show. How I hated the game. Haven't touched this since 1986 or something, but maybe I'll try it some day, because I am a sci-fi freak!

V stands as an example of how to ruin a game and make sure most people never get to enjoy it. The developers made sure that the casual player can't progress from the first screen by making an initial gameplay element so obscure and puzzling as to be impenetrable and frustrating.

Makes me want to snort some red dust right now just so I don't have to play this game. Loaded game, immediately trapped in forcefield, can't find way out, quit game, burned this disk image from my HD, and overwrote it 20x just to be sure. Needs docs since its a sidescroller shooter that wants to be an RPG. A laser and some lizard dudes is all this really needed.

Ingrate, you should be thankful your Dad saved you from a crappy game such as this! Just think you could be writing a comment complaining about how rubbish this game was like everyone else, rather than bemoaning your Dad. Tsk! Kudos for the David Icke reference though, I wonder if V is where it all started going pear shaped from him? Probably from playing this game too...

My dad wouldn't let me play this. Not nightbreed, either. Bloody christian. Anyway, how much fun could it be? Bloomin' David Ike, isn't it?

Baaaah! That "game" nearly killed all my nerves back in the days and I still hate it for that. What a complete waste of time!

How unfair was it to not provide instructions? It was months before I figured out the bloody codes for the force fields! Not bad at all once you got going though, but ultimately disappointing.

It sure was exciting to have a game based on the series. I kept coming back to this one, but I got nowhere.

I begged my mother for ages, to buy this for me, cuz I loved the series. And then one fine day, it was mine. However... I NEVER figured out, how the hell to get out of the hangar. Only because of a (persumed) bug (dragging the joystick to the right while loading), there came a slight crack in the door, which allowed me to escape. It looked good, and it could have been cool as hell, but it simply didn't add up to much. Never figured out, how to blow those labs either btw...

Where are the lizards??? I can't help it but this game feels unfinished. Great graphics, good sound and playability but all what you can do is to run in the mothership shooting robots. Boring. And those locked door really got on my nerves... Nevertheless, I give it 7 out of 10. Technically this is great but what it could have been...

Oh what could have been! A great Sci Fi TV show brought to the C64. Look at the graphics! Gorgeous! Some slick animation on the main character too. But, what a disaster to play! There is very little fun to be had playing this, where's the entertainment value? The satisfaction?? Ok, so perhaps the developers set out to make a slower game of intrigue, ingenuity and intelligence... But still they failed! The developers ran out of time?! Come on, that is no excuse! Shelve it! Release it as a £1.99 wonder!! Don't release it half cooked!! Perhaps if the developers had balanced the scales between creating a C64 oil painting, which they have in places, with playability a little better we would have ended up with more than what can only be compared to playing with a house brick in quick setting concrete! To put this into some kind of context, within 12 months System 3 had released The Last Ninja!
No, no, no... This game was slated in it's day for a good reason. It is awful! It should continue to be slated until it is gone... Forever!

I loved this game back then and still love it now. Ok so there is no music which is a shame and no aliens, but there is just something about being on the mothership and releasing the red dust into the atmosphere and blowing up the labs! There is plenty od playability, contrary to previous comments - you just have to perserbere. The door locks are tricky but eventually after reseting them numerous times you will get a combination that is just one click from opening the doors. I just wish someone would update this for the PC as many other C64 games have been. A great game!

I remember running around the ship for hours without encountering anything but a few robots that were DEFINITELY not in the serie... Not a very good game...

I was a fan of V I liked the TV series which I watched when it was repeated on channel 5 in the UK I never had it for my C64 but back then I got interested developing games and I have remade it for the PC using sierra's AGI program it is called V the graphical adventure you can download it at www.agidev.com

V has great graphics and atmosphere (... And no sound at all!), but there is no game! V is lacking in good puzzles, action and variety and it's abundant in damned combinations! 5/10
Zoooomster 2003-04-15
V is simply underrated. Now and back then - don't let you piss off from those damn door locks! There are some points where you can recharge your weapon and the game is in the technical view pretty good, its quite hard to solve and simply good! Look and the cool roll the main character can do!!
- good game!
zoooom 2003-04-09
V is not easy! The doorlock getting on your nerves after a while and recharging your weapon sucks too, but anyway - still a very intresting and nice looking game !
why is the TV theme music missing ? Where is the loading picture ??
rating: 7/10
Pizzapuke 2003-03-26
V is quite good programmed and intesting too, unfortunly there is no theme music or loading picture . The graphics are great !! Look at the sprite animation of the player character !!!
its quite hard to open the door locks but the game is not as bad as twr says, its OK - thats all
5/10

After that brilliant TV-serie, the licence game arrived. Pretty nice graphics but no sound... But the thing about this game is that I've never figured out what you are supposed to do. Zero playability!
Gandhi 2002-11-19
I hated the locked doors and finding the combination for them!
EvilCensor 2002-10-17
There were delays in releasing this one.. Big fan of TV series then.. Has plenty of bugs in it - not play tested properly due to developers running out of time I believe - not too bad for all of that.. Okay.
Jussi 2002-09-27
Well a Its a funny game but.. There are some things you don't know. Like codes of lasers... Wella. Despite of it challenging alternative
