A Different Look: A Closer Look at Albinism
Project info

The pigment melanin is responsible for the color of our eyes, skin and hair. An albino is someone with too little pigment. Their eyes are often sensitive to light and there visibility is very limited. Skin burns faster and sometimes their slightly shy eyes have involuntary movements.

Today's world seems to strive for perfection if it is one of the most important things. Millions of people take 'selfies' every day in the hope that people show their appreciation in the form of 'likes', 'hearts' or 'comments'. With my photography I want to draw positive attention to a particular, often negatively perceived disease. I also want the society to take A DIFFERENT LOOK so people see that beauty often lies in the 'imperfection'. My fascination with the elegance of the defenseless albino is an example of this.

In every deviation slumbers a hidden beauty. That’s what I want to capture and share with others.
