Last week, Val Maltais, Terri West, Katie Heazlett and Niki Bagarose united with a cohort of mining industry professionals for the Women’s Mining Coalition's annual fly-in event in Washington, DC. Together, they engaged with over 130 congressional offices and agencies, championing sensible reforms in mining permitting, promoting policy that strengthens domestic mining education, raising awareness on energy security and vulnerability and advocating for the industry’s broader interests. #wearecoeur

Coeur Silvertip proudly sponsored an action-packed month of hockey camps and tournaments. The events included the Watson Lake Minor Hockey Skills Pro-Camp, where seventy players practiced with ex-NHL legends, and the 44th Annual Yukon Native Hockey Tournament, where 56 teams played 99 games. The tournament was broadcast in English and the Kaska language. Congratulations to all – especially the YT Cougars who took home first place in their division. #wearecoeur

Silver Industrial Demand Rose 11 Percent to Post A New Record in 2023 Following 2022's record use of silver in industrial applications, a new record high was set in 2023 at 654.4 million ounces (Moz). Ongoing structural gains from green economy applications underpinned these advances as they did in 2022. Higher than expected photovoltaic (PV) capacity additions and faster adoption of new-generation solar cells raised global electrical and electronics demand by a substantial 20 percent. At the same time, other green-related applications, including power grid construction and automotive electrification, also contributed to the gains. Overall, silver demand exceeded silver supply in 2023 for the third consecutive year, resulting in a structural market deficit of 184.3 Moz. See: https://lnkd.in/e_Jr2Zyx

Thank you to The American Institute of Chemical Engineers, AIChE, for inviting Coeur Wharf to host a workshop at this year’s Rocky Mountain Regional Conference at the the South Dakota School of Mines.
