I am sorry to report that we will not be hosting the Mental Heath Conference this weekend and it will be postponed to a later date-so stay tuned. Rather than simply canceling the event without an explanation, I want to use this as a teaching moment to raise awareness and destigmatize mental health challenges. This conference has been canceled due to the mental health struggles of someone on our planning committee. There is no shame or dishonor in these challenges, no different than if we had to cancel the conference due to Covid. Please join me in fighting the stigma by encouraging equality between mental and physical illness, being open and honest about treatment, showing compassion for those struggling and choosing empowerment over shame. We look forward to being able to offer the conference at a later date. #mentalhealth

Bahjat used to feel like he belonged on the sidelines, preferring to channel his feelings into his music. But today he is motivated by sharing his music and journey with others. When Brianna was younger, it was hard to tell if what she was experiencing was just normal teenage angst or if it was something bigger. Today she knows that mental health issues can take various forms. Brianna is still young in years, but full of wisdom. She describes how she works to combat stigma through education, the things that help her stay calm and how recovery can be an iterative process.
