The Call 4 Papers for PHUSE #PHUSE EU Connect 2023 is well underway and will stay open until Friday 5 May (only 1 week to go!). In this post I’d like to highlight some of the streams for which we’re calling for papers: Real-world Evidence, Submissions & Agencies and Software Demonstrations. Real-world Evidence (Ali Dootson, Berber Snoeijer and Matthew Thompson) The Real-world Evidence Stream is dedicated to the handling and analysis of all kinds of observational data including but not limited to registries, health claims and medical records databases, and non-interventional prospective and retrospective studies. The Stream will focus on the challenges the analysis of real-world data holds, such as extremely large datasets, dealing with dirty data, integration with RCTs and issues with regard to validation and standardisation. These challenges need to be dealt with and require specific analysis methods and programming techniques, such as data standardisation, matching algorithms, propensity scores and various kinds of sensitivity analyses across a broader set of data sources and processes. Submissions & Agencies (John Moone, Stephen Harrison and Zach Dorman) The Submissions & Agencies Stream focusses on sharing knowledge, experience and best practice in the preparation, delivery and defence of submissions in the current environment of regulations that include standards and guidance from government agencies. Encompassing all aspects of submission-related activities such as interactions with health authorities, site inspections and audits, we invite you to share your experiences, and welcome open discussion on the challenges and benefits of working in a highly regulated industry.    Software Demonstrations (Cathal Gallagher, Dirk Spruck and Gökhan Özcan) The Software Demonstrations Stream focusses on the demonstration of new or recently released software and tools. It may include new programming platforms, reporting systems or data management tools and new innovative applications using new and established technologies. Demonstrations may highlight the potential for optimisation, increased efficiency or user-friendliness in daily biometrics processes and tasks.
