Never undervalue the power of leadership and doing your best. Recognition comes as a result and is always after the efforts. It is of course easier to recognise when you are proactive and I agree that sometimes we do miss things. If the effort is their, is consistent and there are ways to recognise and appreciate each other that is fabulous. We are all leaders, be the one that leads by the example that inspires.
Truth is we always know the effort we put in, often we don't always know the end results, we aim high and pick a path.... in all my time working, there was a target but not a limit, so delighted to see these awards as so many contributions and different measurements, in some cases the value more difficult to quantify, but value there for our customers, colleagues and a new bar set.
We have always worked in a VUCA world, but by focusing on what we control and can contribute, by giving it your all, collaborating and showing each other your work you often reach the right outcomes. This is a changing world and AI will make a difference, but the human spirit is what this is about. Healthy competition and recognition help highlight what excellence looks like and so often its about attitude and having a growth or positive outlook, most of all even if we are only responsible for our own actions, the many winners were quick to praise and recognise the contribution and support of others.
We never do it alone, sometimes asking for help can be a starting point, but saying thank you should always be the end point. Still many generations on the most powerful way to get things done !
