Looking forward to offer the «Island Ocean» to our Clients👍
NEW VESSEL CHARTER DeepOcean has agreed to charter a converted, battery-powered offshore support vessel to further enhance our subsea offering within offshore renewables and oil and gas. The vessel will be converted from a 2014-built vessel to a modern construction support vessel equipped with a 150 Te crane which will provide subsea inspection, maintenance and repair, light construction and recycling services to DeepOcean’s customers in the offshore renewables and oil and gas industries. “Re-use of existing tonnage is more environmentally friendly than building a new vessel, and adding battery power is an efficient way of reducing CO2-emissions and operating costs. We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint from offshore operations and choose to collaborate with shipowners who can support this effort,” says Øyvind Mikaelsen, CEO of DeepOcean. Moving forward together with Aker BP ASA 👍
🔊 Partnership Update! DeepOcean and Aker BP ASA are moving forward with the integration of an unmanned surface vessel (#USV) into our subsea #IMR and survey operations. Slated for offshore readiness by 2025, this initiative reflects both companies' commitment to remotely controlled subsea operations, with ambitions to transition a portion of traditional vessel-based IMR work to more efficient USVs. Key points: 🌊 Anticipated CO2 emission reduction by over 90% compared to conventional vessels. 🌊 The USV will be remotely controlled from shore, with autonomous safety features to ensure secure operations in challenging weather. 🌊 Aker BP and DeepOcean view the USV as a step towards more environmentally-conscious and streamlined operations. 🌊 With its hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, the vessel is designed for extended offshore durations, potentially operating up to 30 days without refuelling. This collaboration emphasizes a shared commitment to smart solutions, environmental stewardship, and operational enhancement. Excited to offer the new USV to our IMR clients going forward👍
UNMANNED SUMMER NEWS Today, USV AS – a joint venture company owned by DeepOcean, Solstad Offshore ASA and Østensjø Rederi – announces that it has contracted GONDAN Shipbuilders - Astilleros Gondán to build an unmanned surface vessel (USV), capable of significantly reducing emissions and operating expenses compared to conventional vessels utilised for subsea inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) work. The USV will be capable of operating offshore for up to 30 days without charging or refuelling, and it is estimated that the USV solution can reduce CO2 emissions with more than 90 percent compared to a conventional offshore vessel when conducting subsea IMR operations.
