The Datapoint 2200 Microcomputer is recognized as the first desktop personal computer and laid the foundation for PCs from Apple and IBM. It was honored with this year’s #IEEE Region 5 Stepping Stone Award.

RenderMan, now an #IEEE Milestone, is behind much of today’s computer-generated imagery and animation. The groundbreaking tools were developed by Lucasfilm’s computer graphics research group, an entity that later became Pixar.
