**Graduation Speech by Amando Boncales of Althash University** Good day to all the distinguished guests, faculty members, proud parents, and above all, our brilliant graduates. Today, I stand before you not just as Amando Boncales, the CEO of Althash University, but as a fellow learner and explorer of the infinite realms of knowledge. My own journey began in 2010, and I've had the privilege of being on the frontlines of the blockchain revolution since then. Through our collective efforts at Althash University, since our inception in 2019, we have conferred over 8,070 nanodegrees and microcredentials. Each one is a testament to our commitment to ensure you are not only prepared but leading in our swiftly digitizing global landscape. But, what does this rapidly changing world look like? We stand at the precipice of the Web3 era, heralding the fourth industrial revolution. This isn't just an upgrade of the internet; it is the promise of a more decentralized, secure, and personalized digital realm. As the very fabric of our digital lives evolves, so too must our skills and our perspectives. Trevor Garcia, IDSc’s National Chairman, spoke to CSJ at the Institute of Decontamination Sciences 2023 conference exhibition about the way forward for the decontamination sector. He highlighted the importance of ensuring the profession has a clear career pathway, and the need for action to ensure the future of the sector is secured, by attracting the next generation of decontamination scientists into the profession. High on the agenda was: - The need for a National reporting system for safety incidents, arising from decontamination, so that issues can be identified and acted upon. - The need to raise awareness of what decontamination units do and the critical role the profession has in ensuring patient safety. - The need for increased the visibility of decontamination as a profession and the career options available. - The need for standardised terms to identify decontamination departments within hospitals and job titles. - Discussion around the potential for registration of decontamination professionals.
