🌐 Chapter: LOLA BOGOTA, COLOMBIA 📢 Activity: STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR 2024 LOLA Bogota's strategic planning for 2024 includes monthly events to amplify the reach of the liberty movement and bring liberalism to the forefront of Colombia's media discussions. Acknowledging the unfamiliarity with these ideologies, the chapter is committed to increasing awareness through proactive initiatives. This initiative marks a significant step in shaping the national discourse and fostering greater acceptance of libertarian principles in Colombia.

Colombian President #GustavoPetro was right in claiming (at the World Economic Forum) that "Freedom-Equality-Brotherhood" today is a foundation supported no longer by Paris, but by #SouthAfrica". Yet, "Freedom-Equality-Brotherhood" was rooted in #Africa & #Haiti. The legal debate for the abolition of slavery was not begun by Europeans, but by Africans, such as Angolan prince Lourenço da Silva de Mendonça (1620). Women and enslaved persons were fully excluded by the French. See on this my new book "History Below the Global. On and Beyond the Coloniality of Power in Historical Research":

Today, February 5th, we celebrate the anniversary of the Constitution of 1917, which has marked Mexico's path towards a more just and egalitarian society. 3 interesting facts about this day: The Constitution of 1917 is the oldest active Constitution in Latin America. The Congress that drafted the Constitution of 1917 was in session for over a year, from December 1916 to February 1917. The Constitution of 1917 was implemented in the Teatro de la República in the city of Querétaro, a place of great historical significance for Mexico.

Bastille Day celebrated on July 14th, marks the storming of the Bastille prison in Paris in 1789, a pivotal event that sparked the French Revolution. The storming of the Bastille is often seen as a symbol of the people's uprising against the tyranny of the monarchy. This event, similar to the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th in America, represents a significant moment in the fight for freedom and the struggle against autocratic rule. While the Revolutionary War in America and Bastille Day are distinct historical events in different countries, they are linked by their shared foundations in Enlightenment ideals, their impact on global revolutions, and the inspiration they provided to people fighting for freedom and self-determination. Both events signify the struggle against tyranny and the pursuit of liberty that shaped history.

Australian Macedonians expect the Albanese Government to do better foreign policy development and implementation job. The macedonian community is deeply alarmed that since 1994, Australia has failed to develop a fair, just, ethical, evidence based and sustainable policy towards the R. of Macedonia and the Macedonian people. Instead , it has blindly followed the instructions and anti Macedonian policies of reckless Western elites. Macedonia and its people must enjoy equal rights to freedom, democracy, human rights, non-coercion, non-discrimination and pride in their distinct identity and nationhood, an opinion by Ordan Andreevski.

Professor and Researcher at the International Institute of Caribbean Studies at Universidad de Cartagena (Colombia)
Good news! The volumes on the histories of Colombia—History of Solitude: Colombia 1820-1970s and Histories of Perplexity: Colombia, 1970s-2010s—are now in production by Routledge. These volumes offer fresh perspectives on Colombia and will be of great value to those interested in Latin American and Caribbean history. I'm contributing with a chapter that discusses everyday popular politics and the making of the informal city during the National Front. https://lnkd.in/e_j9naGw

[November 2021] I represented the Kingdom of Morocco in the Padova Model Universal Period Review 2021, an academic simulation of a unique United Nations mechanism which reviews the human rights records of all UN Member States. This model offered participants an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms and dynamics of the UPR procedure held in Geneva. Here is the link to my performance: https://lnkd.in/gnd62m38
