The new Ellenbrook Station, delivered by the MELconnx Alliance, of which Laing O'Rourke is a partner, is now complete. This marks the first finished station as part of the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the R U Ok? and TrackSAFE Foundation partnership, and our Rail Operations team are reinforcing our commitment to fostering a stronger, safe and more supportive industry, not just today, but every day of the year. This week, we were proud to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal to one of London's newest landmarks, our Chelsea Quay site. The Princess Royal was given a tour of the Tideway London project. She met with some of our project team, including one of our senior engineers, Jack Maggs, who has worked on the project since 2018. When talking about the visit, Jack Maggs, said: “The Princess Royal asked me several questions on my involvement with the project and mentioned how well the new space will enhance the local community. "Meeting Her Royal Highness was a great experience, and I was extremely proud to showcase the outstanding work the team has been delivering over the years.” Chelsea Quay is a new piece of the embankment which sits on top of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, which is the largest project ever undertaken in the UK water industry and will clean up the River Thames for future generations. We are delivering the central section of the project in partnership with Ferrovial.

We're proud to have partnered with Queensland Rail to deliver the Inspiring STEM+ Programme to the students at LOURDES HILL COLLEGE. The programme is a Laing O'Rourke initiative with a long-term vision of tackling gender diversity by encouraging and supporting females in selecting STEM subjects during their influential high school years. It has been a busy few months of milestones for the Princes Highway East Upgrade: Stage 3 project, with preparations underway to open three key intersections and move traffic to the newly built Princes Highway lanes. The first traffic recently commenced under the new Kilmany rail bridge, which will benefit 15,000 road users daily. The team will be working on major works throughout April with another traffic switch to follow a massive 5km of newly constructed road, with the project due to be completed mid-year. Over the coming months, the team will also have a rail occupation where they will remove the existing overpass.
