On The Road Really enjoy reading the book from Leif Ostling ,our legent CEO of Scania Group, and thanks for his sharing about his 40 years career. A lot of treasure insight and his principle how he leaded Scania Group. I joint Scania Group family in 1991, and my first picture took at work is actually for Leif Ostling's first visiting to Taiwan in 1991. Picture was taken in front of heatquarter of EVERGREEN LINE in Taipei and we delivered No. 2,000 tractor in Taiwan, the user is EVERGREEN LINE. I get the chance to introduce to Leif Ostling how our customers using Scania vehicle as Sales & Marketing Director together my MD Lilljequist Per at our Taipei Worshop in 2011. The white and green bus behines is one of the bus belongs to EVERGREEN LINE. First #Scania delivered to EVERGREEN LINE was in 1983. EVERGREEN LINE purchased almost 1,000 #Scania in the past 40 years in Taiwan. We get the chance to took a milestone picture in 2022 in Taipei Harbor. A latest Euro 6 #Scania P370 with Ever Ace, the first revorutionary A class full container ship with capacity 24,000TEU, the biggest in the world. Leif Ostling covered many interesting topics in his book. I like Chapter Leadership especially. Small empires still can found in mos of the organization today 😂 . Also cannot agree more in Chapter Reflections the insight of "people worked wuthin the confines of system, rather than system working for the people". 😅 #visionary #leadership #companyculture

You describe SPS as it should be, how to work in a systematic way with full involvement of people. We called it for the Scania way described as the House. All this we learned from the chairman of Toyota, Eji Toyoda, more than 20 years ago. He started to develop the company 1954 with help of ideas from Henry Ford and Professor Deming in LA. Toyota produced 40 000 cars at that time. He was proud when we met year 2000 that Toyota then was producing 6 million. To compare with Volvo Cars that 1954 produced 65 000 cars and year 2000 just over 500 000 cars. So Toyota production system/thinking had been very successful. Toyota supported us so much in building the SPS and the philosophy build into it. It is great that you take care of it and develop it further. People involvement is the key to success. So I wish you all success going forward.
A couple of weeks ago at Scania Top Management Meeting (TMM) I was happy that one of the focus areas were Skill Capture (diversity and inclusion). I also had the chance to tell how we at Chassi Production unit (MS) have used our SPS (Scania Production System) and connected that to Skill Capture by implementing Psychological Safety in our teams. This led to really impressive result when it comes to improve our productivity. It was so fun doing this and hopefully I manage to inspire others doing the same:-) Tips how to increase psychological safety: · Talk about psychological safety – and listen to what is said (and not said) · Encourage conversation · Embrace failure as an opportunity to learn · Be curious, not accusatory! · Ask for feedback, listen to the feedback · Be vulnerable · Encourage debate · Value contributions offered Thank you everyone that were listening and thank you all other Skill Capture Ambassadors that were a part of the Skill Capture team this day.

Mind-controlled arm prostheses hold immense promise as a future technology that can greatly improve the lives of individuals with upper limb amputations or impairments. Fascinating? These prostheses aim to restore natural and intuitive control over prosthetic limbs by directly connecting them to the user's brain signals: Enhanced functionality: Mind-controlled prostheses have the potential to offer a higher degree of functionality and dexterity compared to traditional prosthetic limbs. By utilizing brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), these prostheses can interpret the user's intentions and translate them into precise and natural movements. This allows users to perform a wider range of complex tasks, such as grasping objects with varying shapes and sizes or executing delicate movements. Improved user experience: Mind-controlled arm prostheses offer a more intuitive and seamless user experience. Instead of relying on manual controls or limited pre-programmed movements, users can control their prosthetic limbs simply by thinking about the desired actions. This reduces the cognitive load and effort required to operate the prosthesis, making it feel more like a natural extension of the body. Restored sensory feedback: In addition to motor control, advancements in mind-controlled prostheses are also exploring ways to provide sensory feedback to users. By integrating sensors and electrodes into the prosthesis and connecting them to the user's nerves or sensory pathways, it becomes possible to relay tactile sensations back to the user's brain. This can enable users to regain a sense of touch, temperature, and pressure, significantly enhancing their ability to interact with the world. Neural plasticity and adaptation: Mind-controlled arm prostheses have the potential to leverage the brain's remarkable ability to adapt and rewire itself. As users interact with their prosthetic limbs over time, their brain can learn to optimize the control signals, resulting in improved precision and efficiency of movements. This adaptive process can lead to a more natural and seamless integration of the prosthesis into the user's body schema. Research and technological advancements: Ongoing research and technological advancements in the field of mind-controlled prostheses are pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Scientists and engineers are constantly improving the accuracy, reliability, and ease of use of BCIs, as well as developing more sophisticated prosthetic designs. These advancements hold the potential to make mind-controlled arm prostheses increasingly accessible and practical for a wider range of users. While mind-controlled arm prostheses are still in the research and development stage, significant progress has been made, and they hold tremendous promise for the future.

Join me!
