This International Women's Day, let's celebrate the vital contributions women make in research. Let's honour and support the women who are driving innovation and positive change like Claire our Head of Pharmacovigilance. Please take a minute to read this important article highlighting the need for more inclusion in research, especially for women. Happy International Women’s Day ❤️ #InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion #DiscoverMore #DeliverBetter #decentralisedclinicaltrials #smartclinicaltrials #improvinglives
#InternationalWomensDay #InspireInclusion To mark this day, I wanted to draw attention to a topic that we at NWEH feel passionately about, and an area in which we are actively trying to make a difference to foster a more inclusive world: by addressing the significant health disparities which still exist between women and men in clinical trials. As many of you are aware, historically, women have been massively under-represented in scientific research, with men being considered the ‘default’ patient. This oversight has led to many of the inequalities in health between women and men that we see today and is something that urgently needs to be addressed across scientific research. NWEH is uniquely placed to help close the gender health gap, by ensuring more women are included in scientific research. Please read this short article to learn more about how we can improve the clinical research landscape to help achieve better health outcomes for women. Please let me know your thoughts and comments! #IWD2024

Congratulations Claire Williams 👏
The team at NWEH would like to wish Claire Williams a huge congratulations on her new appointment as Vice Chair of the GM Central Research Ethics committee. In this role Claire will be working with HRA and MHRA in developing new guidance to help researchers increase the diversity of people taking part in research in the UK. Following on from the Lord O'Shaughnessy report, which highlighted the need for a step away from traditional clinical trials with a move towards more decentralisation and increased diversity, this new guidance will help shape the future of the UK clinical trial landscape. Given the population diversity of the UK will make the UK a leading choice for companies to demonstrate the effectiveness of products across a wide range of patient populations. With over 20 years of experience in clinical trials, Claire is an absolute asset to the NWEH team, bringing her passion for ethics into our day to day at NWEH ensuring we align on our values and commitments to our customers. Well done Claire from all of us at NWEH. #decentralisedclinicaltrials #diversity #smartclinicaltrials #improvinglives

Collaboration is key and allows us to help deliver novel medicines and therapies to those that need them most. #decentralisedclinicaltrials #healthcare #collaboration
"One of the most important aspects of our work is collaborating with academics within our industry. It's important because, with their insights and expertise, we can better refine and improve our offering to set new standards in clinical trial design and delivery. Ultimately, strong collaboration empowers us to discover more relevant and accessible cohorts of patients, and to deliver better therapies faster to patients that need them the most." Jonathan Wogel, CEO. Collaboration is at the heart of clinical trial delivery. TechBio – a new normal in life sciences? “By utilising TechBio techniques in clinical studies – such as with decentralised trials, which use data to identify the right patients for trials then enable remote participation through technology – trial sponsors can make studies more efficient, effective, and convenient for patients.” Dr Jonathan Wogel, CEO. Lord O’Shaughnessy’s welcomed report sheds light on the necessity of revitalising the UK's standing in commercial clinical trials, and where NWEH can add significant value. 👉 FARSITE can search millions of Electronic Health Records in seconds, so you can test your inclusion/exclusion criteria in real-time to ensure you have the right cohort size, age, sex and ethnic background. FARSITE can also reach out to patients who meet trial criteria via their GP. 👉 Our Clinical Research Team consent, enrol and randomise eligible patients to your study at local GP Practices or in the patients' home. 👉 ConneXon has real-time safety reporting capabilities, giving researchers and participants peace of mind.
