🎓🌟 Thank You for Attending the Opportunity Fair! 🌟🎓 We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the Opportunity Fair for Richland One Seniors on April 27th at Heyward Career and Technology Center. While the focus was on seniors who may not have had a clear plan after graduation, many Richland One Seniors benefited from attending. The event featured industry recruiters, college recruiters, and military recruiters, providing invaluable opportunities for our students. With nearly 30 vendors in attendance, this event was truly a remarkable opportunity for our students to explore various paths after high school. Special thanks to Mrs. Eugenie Parker, our HCTC school counselor, and the Opportunity Fair planning committee for their hard work in collaborating with schools, staff, and parents to make this year's event a success. We also extend our appreciation to Gerald Henry, Transportation Supervisor, and his transportation staff for their support in transporting students to the event. Mark your calendars for next year's event on March 21, 2025. We look forward to another successful Opportunity Fair and the chance to continue supporting our students in their post-graduation plans. Thank you all for your participation and support!

Work-based learning is a cornerstone of our CTE curriculum, offering students invaluable hands-on experience alongside skilled professionals. Principal Washington recently visited our partner, Mpire Barbershop, where Xavier Williams, a senior Master Haircare Barbering student, showcased his talents. Owner Mike McQueen, is thrilled to mentor such a dedicated student from HCTC. Let's show our appreciation for Mpire Barbershop by visiting for services and supporting Xavier's growth. Principal Washington even raves, 'His haircut was worth every penny!' Invest in our youth and support local businesses. Find Mpire Barbershop at 2101 Main Street, Columbia, SC, or call 803-363-7463. Thank you, Mike McQueen, for empowering HCTC students like Xavier!" 🙌💈 #WorkBasedLearning #SupportLocal #HCTC #MpireBarbershop Mpire Barber Richland County School District One RichlandOne CareerandTech SCCTE https://lnkd.in/eeeMyWqp
