‘Ring form’ of Plasmodium falciparum observed in red cells. High level of parasitaemia. Neutrophils show dark inclusions; possibly phagoctyosed malarial pigment (haemazoin), upon release of the pigment from parasitised red blood cells. Note: Intraleukocytic malarial pigment and high parasitaemia correlates with poor prognosis.

Malaria pigment called as Hemozoin, phagocytosed by neutrophils.

RBCs: anisocytosis, stomatocytes occasional seen, Dimorphic blood picture, severe malarial infection ( mp: Trophozoites of plasmodium falciparum seen ) Platelets: Few Gaint platelets seen , platelets have aggregation seen. WBC: reactive Neutrophils seen with Dohle bodies seen Patient may be in sepsis,

Dohle Bodies : It is obvious that there is sever malaria infection. And the inclusion in the neutrophil could be a reaction to infection (so that probably are Dohle Bodies). 🤔

Hoge parasitemie malaria, Plasmodium Falciparum. Kan me voorstellen dat de neutrofielen de boel aan het opruimen zijn dus kan best malaria materiaal zijn. Dus fagocytose door neutrofielen.

Dohle bodies and toxic vacuoles in mature neutrophils. Also seen are ring forms of plasmodium falciparum. Looks like high parasitic index and the patient must be in sepsis. Also , giant plateles are seen. However, hemolysis is not there.
