Apple allegedly discontinues production of its environmentally-friendly FineWoven cases and watch bands - https://lnkd.in/dT4rB2Nb Apple introduced its FineWoven range of iPhone cases and Apple Watch Bands in 2023, stating that their eco-friendly design was a superior alternative to the company's outgoing leather accessories. However, it now appears that Apple is ending its FineWoven line after receiving countless complaints about the durability of the material and the way the material feels compared to its former range of leather accessories. Fundamentally, People don't like Apple's FineWoven iPhone 15 cases. The Verge called Apple's FineWoven iPhone cases "categorically terrible" and shared how easy it is to scratch, scuff, or mark the new material Apple calls "luxurious and durable." Keynote USA also admitted that while the FineWoven cases feel good in the hand, long-term durability was a real concern. Scratch marks were easily created and the case seemed to collect lint and dirt that wasn't always easy to clean. Drain Kosutami (thanks, Keynote USA) claims that Apple has stopped production of FineWoven covers and is moving to “another material.” It won't be leather, however, as Apple will want to opt for something eco-friendly. We could see an announcement during Apple's next iPhone event, which historically takes place in September. Expect to see New iPhone cases and watch bands released in the fall, if the report is accurate. Apple will host its annual WWDC 2024 event on June 10, where it will reveal the future of iOS, MacOS, and iPadOS. It's unlikely we'll see any new hardware announced, like the rumored Airpods Lite. As you all wanted detailed practical examples on the BCG matrix, so after researching for a long day, I am here with it. Let's see the practical applicability of the BCG matrix on Apple :- As we all know, Apple is mostly known for its innovative products and a huge brand loyalty. So, after applying the BCG matrix to this company, I came to know the following points- 1). Stars ⭐: iPhone (High Market Growth, High Market Share): The iPhone typically falls into the "Star" category due to its high market growth and dominant market share in the smartphone industry. 2). Question Marks❓: Apple Watch (High Market Growth, Low Market Share): The smartwatch market, although growing, might have posed a challenge in terms of market share compared to other products. The Apple Watch could be considered a "Question Mark" that requires strategic decisions. 3). Cash Cows🐄: MacBook (Low Market Growth, High Market Share): Apple's MacBook lineup, having a significant market share in the laptop industry, is likely a "Cash Cow." The market for laptops may not be growing rapidly, but Apple continues to generate substantial profits. 4). Dogs🐕: iPod (Low Market Growth, Low Market Share): The iPod, once a revolutionary product, might be considered a "Dog" as its market share has likely decreased due to the rise of smartphones with music-playing capabilities and easily affordable for youth. So, after classifying the products according to their growth and market share it into different domain. It is easy for a company to make strategic decisions accordingly. https://lnkd.in/e2b6gz2Z Apple prepares for the end of leather Apple Watch bands with staff discounts Apple could discontinue its use of leather watch bands for the Apple Watch Series 9, it is rumored, with Apple employees said to be receiving major discounts on Hermes bands as Apple winds down its leather stock. Numerous rumors have surfaced throughout August about Apple switching to a woven composite fabric from its use of leather, affecting iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands. In the latter's case, the shift from leather may fully happen in September's event, and Apple has been preparing for the occasion. In Tuesday X posts, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman offered an assumption that Apple will move away from the Apple Watch bands after commenting about the leather-free iPhone 15 case leaks. In a later update, Gurman adds that Apple has been trying to cut down its stock of leather bands. Update on that assumption: I'm told that Apple last month started offering employees its Hermes leather accessories (and leather link bands) at up to 90% off. Clearly some inventory clearing going on. The internal deal continues but everything is out of stock. https://lnkd.in/e9MGfmiW...

Ever wonder why Apple's gadgets like iPhones and MacBooks feel like they're made for each other? It's because they seamlessly sync up and make life easier. But here's the kicker - it's not just about convenience; it's about creating a whole tech ecosystem that's hard to resist. This approach has made Apple's devices wildly popular, especially among those less tech-savvy. However, it's also sparked a debate about the thin line between integration and antitrust concerns. In response to accusations from the DOJ, Apple vigorously defends its practices, arguing that they're essential for maintaining the unique experience its products offer. But if found guilty, it could mean big changes for the tech giant and its loyal users. Part of Apple's success lies in the stickiness of its ecosystem. Did you know that iPhone users are much more likely to invest in other Apple devices and accessories? According to Statista Consumer Insights, a whopping 79 percent of iPhone users who own a smartwatch use an Apple Watch, compared to just 22 percent of Android users. The same pattern can be observed for headphones, tablets, and laptops, where iPhone users overwhelmingly prefer Apple products. It's a fascinating dynamic that raises questions about competition, innovation, and consumer behavior in the tech industry. In an unexpected turn of events, Apple has officially removed the Watch #Series9 from its online store, citing an ongoing patent battle with health tech company Masimo. The smartwatch, once a #holiday season favorite, is now marked as "Currently Unavailable" on the Apple website due to a technical intellectual property dispute. The Apple Watch #Ultra2 shares a similar fate, leaving consumers with limited options. The entry-level Apple Watch SE remains available, likely due to its more basic health metrics. However, enthusiasts can still secure the Series 9 through alternative online channels, with Amazon promising pre-Christmas delivery in select areas. This unusual move comes as a result of an optical image sensor dispute at the heart of the battle – a feature vital for monitoring a wearer's heart rate. Apple, while disagreeing strongly with the order, is complying with a Presidential Review Period, indicating the complexities of the legal tussle. Despite the setback, Apple affirms its commitment to user safety and health, with teams actively pursuing legal and technical options to ensure the availability of the Apple Watch. As the #holidayseason unfolds, customers may find themselves unwrapping rainchecks, highlighting the challenging timing of this unprecedented decision. #AppleWatch #PatentDispute #TechNews

Apple's highly-anticipated next-generation iPhone series, the iPhone 15, is on the brink of release. Speculation about the iPhone 15 started circulating last year, following the unveiling of the iPhone 14. The imminent Wonderlust event, scheduled for September 12, is set to bring four iPhone models into the spotlight: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. While there were earlier reports of a possible fifth iPhone, it's less likely now. Nevertheless, Apple might still have a surprise up its sleeve with the 'iPhone 15 Ultra' as their 'One more thing.' This launch comes amid a challenging period for the smartphone industry, with iPhone shipments hitting a ten-year low. Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, acknowledged a dip in iPhone sales revenue. The iPhone 15 launch is poised to breathe new life into Apple's smartphone sales. However, the iPhone 15 series isn't the only announcement expected at the event.
