Frederik Luppens this is interesting
Two demonstrators, built by Dr Peter O'Brien's team at Tyndall, and the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC), will be featured at the SABIC booth (#1204) during the Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC), which is taking place this week. OFC is the premier global event for optical communications and networking professionals that showcases the latest industry advancements and emerging technologies. Development of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) on silicon or other substrates has enabled compact designs with faster data rates. One challenge is the size disparity between the smaller optical mode field of silicon photonic waveguides and larger single-mode optical fibers. A connector assembly, built by Tyndall’s Photonic Packaging Group, will show how SABIC’s material solutions can help improve the integration of individual optical components, using established optical fibre connection technologies. Stop by booth #1204 to meet Peter O’Brien, and to see the assembly and learn how optical integration is achieved using optically transparent EXTEM resin with the potential to withstand the extreme temperatures of JEDEC Reflow or surface-mount technology (SMT). This is a great programme with incredible support. Beir bua!
Nice to get this mention today in The Irish Times on #IWD24 We (@ATU Innovation Hubs) are due to kickstart a new female entrepreneurship programme with the Rubicon Centre @ Munster Technological University in Cork funded by Údarás na Gaeltachta. We ran a successful pilot in Galway and Mayo last year and we are now due to roll this out to the gaeltacht areas in seven counties of Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Meath and Waterford. We are hoping to attract over 110 females onto the EMPOWER Cumasú Programme over the next 3 years. We are looking forward to partnering also with the Rubicon Centre at MTU in Cork and watching more female businesses develop and grow in our rural regions. 'Táimid ag súil le breis agus 110 bean a mhealladh chuig an gClár EMPOWER Cumasú thar na 3 bliana amach romhainn. Táimid ag tnúth le dul i gcomhpháirtíocht freisin le Lárionad Rubicon in OTM i gCorcaigh agus breathnú ar níos mó gnólachtaí mná ag forbairt agus ag fás inár réigiúin tuaithe’. For any female founder living in the Gaeltacht you can apply on www.empowerprogramme.ie Sean O Coisdealbha Pamela Ni Thaidhg Aisling Nic Aoidh Deirdre Seoighe Ultan Faherty John Magee Helena Deane Paul Healy Aoife McInerney Orla Flynn George McCourt Michelle Lee Sandra Divilly Nolan Declan Droney Margaret Leahy Siobhán Ní Chofaigh Evelyn O'Toole Sorcha O'Grady Loretta Ní Ghabháin Siobhan Leigh Elaine Dunne Letitia Hill Muireann Ní Dhroighnéain Emily Lavelle PMP® Sabina Trench Mícheál Ó Duibhir https://lnkd.in/e-6YUQJX

Tá mé chomh bródúil go bhfuil aithne agam ar Joanna Ciezka agus Tá any-ádh dearg orainn go dtugann sí an baile ar Éireann agus Gaillimh. I am so proud to know Joanna Ciezka and we are very lucky that she chooses to call Ireland and Galway home . Beannachtaí na féile Pádraig oraibh
We oftentimes turn into the colours of other counties when facing a tragedy, many times uniting in fear and rage. Ireland makes the globe (!) go green in order to spread grá, compassion and open arms in celebrations of human connections. 💚 So today, step into that energy and spread it later throughout the future as the world needs it! Lá Fhéile Pádraig 🇮🇪 whatever good day means to each human out there, may it be touched with the ray of the Irish warmth ☘️ ‘Love letter to Ireland’ is a short video made by HEAVY MAN FILMS - Tomek Ciezki - couple of years ago for Irish Socksciety Ltd After receiving my citizenship I felt a huge urge to share the whys behind my love for Ireland and these guys are the best storytellers.
