BioVolume Feature Updates Sept 22

BioVolume Feature Updates Sept 22

In our biggest release this year, we are excited to announce 3 new features developed in response to requests from the research community. Users will now be able to measure areas of concern on the tumour surface, carry out stratified randomisation automatically, and measure multi-site tumours individually. We have also made tweaks to the user interface to improve workflow and organisation of studies within our software.

New: Quantify Tumour Condition

Users will now be able to identify an area of concern on the tumour surface such as ulceration, redness, or necrosis. BioVolume will measure this as % total area, enabling tracking of tumour condition over time. Teams will be able to better quantify humane endpoints and monitor rodent welfare.

New: Multi-site Tumour Segmentation

BioVolume will now be able to precisely calculate total volume of multi-site tumours for greater volumetric accuracy of tumours that begin as 2 or more separate masses (up to 3 per capture).

New: Randomisation Tool

Using tumour volumes recorded in the system, our randomisation tool can automatically allocate mice to groups with comparable tumour volumes across each group. Rodents can also be excluded by tumour size.

Workflow Improvements:

·        Animals will be grouped by cage in the capture screen

·        Euthanasia date field added

·        Study tags added for easier searching through studies

UI Improvements:

·        Updated graph views to include individual rodent growth curves

·        Scroll bar optimised for small screens

All our new features are released free to our clients so download the latest installer version to update your software or speak to your customer service rep for more detail.
