Indeed, 2022 adds the tests of inflation, the back-to-the-office debate and geopolitical turmoil that exacerbates preexisting supply chain issues. Perennial concerns such as cybersecurity and the IT staffing shortage continue unabated. And the pandemic, now in its third year, complicates matters with regional flareups. more

Artificial Intelligence And Security: What You Should Know

Next-generation AI products learn proactively and identify changes in the networks, users, and databases using "data drift" to adapt to specific threats as they evolve.

In March 2019, Norsk Hydro, a Norwegian renewable energy and aluminum manufacturing company, faced a ransomware attack. ERP

8 Reasons ERP Is Back And On The Rise

The tech world is filled with three-letter acronyms that ebb and flow like tides. The buzz phrase 'enterprise resource planning,' (ERP), first appeared on PowerPoint slides in the 1990s.

It was the latest manifestation at the time of a long drive that began in the 1950s and 60s to use computers to manage corporate resources effectively and profitably.

The acronym seemed to disappear for a few decades after that. Not because the work went away, but just because other topics elbowed ERP out of the limelight. That's changing, though, and today, the letters are starting to appear once again. For instance, Findability, an artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced that they were branding their new product with the name 'ERP-Max' instead of a name that conjures up ideas of machine learning. more

How To Modernize IT Operations For A Cloud-Native World

In a cloud-native world, the IT operations strategies that worked when IaaS was at the center of software environments no longer suffice

Instead, modern businesses need a truly cloud-native approach to IT operations. Here's what that means and how your team can bring its IT operations strategy up to speed with cloud-native computing.

Once upon a time, running workloads on public cloud IaaS services was cutting-edge. So were IT operations teams that understood how to deploy, monitor, and secure the VM-based monoliths that operated in those cloud environments. more

Making Data Centers Cool Again

It has been two years since the COVID-19 pandemic catapulted digital transformation to the top of the priority list for virtually every business and individual in the world. And as the world's reliance on next-gen technologies continues to increase, so too will the amount of data created, captured, copied, and consumed increase to meet the demands of today's post-digital society... more

Saying Goodbye To Legacy Systems

Are you still using a rotary phone, tube television or Rolodex? Probably not.But if you were, you'd still be using newer technology than what many enterprises still rely on every day to drive mission-critical applications that we use every day when shopping, banking or hundreds of other normal tasks.

At least two-thirds of large enterprises are running mainframe-based apps that date back 10 to 20 years and more than 25% of businesses feature applications that are between 20 or 30 years old. more

How SD-WAN Enables Digital Transformation

While Software-Defined Wide Area Networking, or SD-WAN, has gradually evolved over about the last decade, in recent years it has seen rapid adoption - in part due to organizations' move to digital transformation (DX).

It has also become increasingly common for telcos and other service providers to offer managed SD-WAN services for their customers. For enterprises, a wide variety of vendors offer SD-WAN solutions, which can further complicate the decision process. more

What We Learned On The Sales Hacker Roadshow (2022)

If you joined the Sales Hacker community in the last four years, this might be news to you: Sales Hacker was originally known mostly for its incredible in-person events.

But (and it's painful to admit this) until this spring, we hadn't hosted a physical event in nearly four years!

We've been focused on other things. To name a few:

  • Publishing even more new content you love (we know you love it because our site traffic has tripled)
  • Redesigning the website
  • Building a larger team
  • Launching the forums so our members could have conversations like this one

But we found that as this glorious community grew in size, we weren't proportionally growing the sense of community we feel with our members and that our members feel with their peers. And we decided we needed to improve that. Enter: the Sales Hacker Roadshow '22. more
