Have you ever been called a stick in the mud? Nowadays it's probably more like "don't be a buzzkill" or something worse. But it used to be if someone called you a stick in the mud, they meant you were boring. Now, what in the world does this have to do with business? Well, I relate everything to business. Ha! And stick with me a minute (pun intended) and I'll show you what I'm talking about...
If you're a stick in the mud, you'll get stuck in the mud.
And what I'm talking about is how you gotta do all the boring, behind-the-scenes stuff...AND...not be boring to your customers, clients, or audience. In other words, you gotta project the good stuff. Even when it doesn't "feel good" to you. Like they say, "you gotta man up and do the hard work." And that's sort of true for you lady entrepreneurs, too.
When you want to build a lasting business, you gotta build a solid foundation. A big building will fall if it's built on mud. And you certainly don't want to get stuck in the mud. But that's what'll happen if you're praying for rain and building on soft dirt. Good news is...it's not that hard to build a solid foundation when you have a solid system to help you avoid most of the pitfalls.
