Public Toilets Raided After Child Almost Crashes 12-Man Orgy

The restroom is known as a popular cruising spot for gay men in Edinburgh.

A public toilet in Scotland was raided earlier this week following complaints of lewd behavior in broad daylight.

Located at the Mound, an area in central Edinburgh, the restrooms are known as a popular cruising spot for gay men, Edinburgh News reports.

A man taking his 6-year-old nephew to the restroom claims he stumbled on a group of up to 12 men performing various sex acts. One was reportedly “crouched down at another’s groin” while up to 10 others were pleasuring themselves.

“I totally understand that cruising happens in every city but to do it in the public view takes it to another level,” says the shocked supermarket employee. “I just quickly walked out. Luckily I had my nephew over my shoulder facing the other direction. I was just so taken aback.”

After phoning the city council, the offended man was told that officers are aware of the ongoing problem but that the city could not afford full-time restroom attendants.

“I think from now on I’ll be using toilets within premises as I don’t want to experience anything like that again.”

Officers called to the scene were seen banging on stalls and questioning men during the subsequent raid but no arrests were reported.

“Two guys were being questioned outside but there was a crowd of guys that came running out just as the police went in,” a bystander notes. “We used to always keep telling guys stop the cruising. There is a sauna for that but they don’t listen. I’m gay myself and kind of embarrassed by it.”

The Mound toilets are reportedly listed on online message boards as a gay cruising site. Recent posts note that one man was recently “smacked in the face” for propositioning another.

“The council employs a mobile squad of attendants who visit and clean public toilets around the city seven days a week, as has been the case for some time," a council spokeswoman says in a statement. "Any inappropriate behaviour witnessed in public toilets should be reported to Police Scotland.”
