Sinapidendron sempervivifolium

Perennial shrub, totally glabrous. Stems are erect and branching; leaves are succulent and densely grouped at the base, obovate or obovate-oblong, the lower, and linear, the upper, 5-7 cm long and 2-3 cm wide. Flowers are small, grouped in racemes and yellow. A native of the Desertas Islands, more specifically Deserta Grande, and common to rocky habitats, from sea level to 300 m; this plant is therefore totally rupicolous. Such restricted distribution makes this is a rare and endangered species, despite being located in the well-managed protected area of the Desertas Islands Nature Reserve.
