- NBA. Chris Paul will undergo an MRI on his right hand, could miss All-Star Game
- Anthony Davis injury: Foot sprain leaves him out four weeks
It's time for the NBA to pause its regular season, but this time not because of some pandemic-related issue that has affected the world, but to enjoy the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend that includes different events, such as the Slam Dunk Contest.
After 2021 saw a radical change in the format of this event, as last year's NBA Dunk Contest for the first time was a halftime show for the NBA All-Star Game, the league has decided to get serious and go back to basics.
Cleveland is hosting the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend and this Saturday, February 19, the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse welcomes four rising stars to look to shine in the Slam Dunk Contest, an event that in previous years has catapulted the careers of some legends.
Who will be the new king of the Slam Dunk Contest?
Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green, New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin, Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony and Golden State Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson are the chosen ones to win the crown that in 2021 went to Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons.
The betting odds put Green as the favorite, followed by Toppin, Anthony and Toscano-Anderson, but in the history of this event there have already been surprises among the winners.
The 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, the third event of the night, is definitely worth tuning in for, as the Skills Challege and 3-Point Contest will be held beforehand.
