In an interview with CBS this Morning, Tiffany Chen, girlfriend of renowned actor Robert De Niro, explained that transitioning into motherhood has had its fair share of obstacles. "Postpartum complications" have made her journey a bit bumpy, she admitted. In April earlier this year, the couple welcomed their adorable baby girl, Gia.
In her conversation with Gayle King, the 45-year-old opened up about the struggles she'd gone through since little Gia made her grand entrance into the world. This was the first time Chen publicly discussed her experiences as a new mother.
De Niro, despite being known for keeping his personal life rather private, acknowledged that his other six children haven't set their eyes on their youngest sibling yet. The distinguished actor from the classic "The Godfather Part II" is a proud father to a large brood which includes Drena, 51, Raphael, 46, twins Aaron and Julian, 27, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11.
In fact, it was during this year's May when De Niro unexpectedly announced he had just increased his fatherly tally to seven. His revelation came about when a journalist incorrectly labeled him a father of six. He humorously replied: "Just had a baby."

Born with a healthy weight of 8 pounds, 6 ounces, Gia is certainly a delightful addition to the family. When asked by Page Six about his reaction to Gia's arrival, the "Irishman" star expressed his delight, implying it was anything but a surprise. "You can't not prepare for things like these. I'm fine with it, and frankly, I absolutely love it," De Niro shared, adding a touch of humor, "though parenting never does get easier."
De Niro and Chen, a tai chi instructor, met while working on the film "The Intern" in 2015. They were seen together as a pair in August 2021, prompting rumors of a romance. The couple lives together in LA, with the ever-busy actor comfortably juggling his hectic work routines. De Niro embarked on this new relationship following his divorce with Grace Hightower, three years prior. He was previously married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976-1988.
