For several decades, Jean-Claude Van Damme was one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood and the film industry in general. He became an icon of action movies and some of his films have remained popular to this day. Therefore, it seems almost impossible to think that his image could not fit in one of the best action and entertainment sagas, 'Fast & Furious'.
But the words of Van Damme have unleashed all the controversy because he had almost agreed with 'Fast & Furious', to enter the saga as an actor. The actor had talked to the 'family', as the production of the film is called, but one of the stars of the movies denied him.
Vin Diesel arrived and said no: "No, I don't want him".
Vin Diesel reportedly blocked Van Damme from 'Fast & Furious'
According to Van-Damme's words, that's what Vin Diesel said, a resounding no to the movie saga, in the interview with The Telegraph. So far, the actor alluded to by Van Damme has not denied his words or issued a statement.
On the other hand, Van-Damme left a 'message' to Vin Diesel with other statements: "People have been meeting a Tesla on the screen through beautiful and perfect CGI, but some people want to go back to driving with the manual gearbox.
"Do you know what I mean? Some people prefer it. Not all of them. I'm that switch to manual."
The time Van Damme did cocaine on set
On the other hand, Van Damme is notorious for being confrontational on film shoots. One of the best known was the 1994 film 'Street Fighter: The Last Stand', where he used cocaine on set.
"I couldn't talk about it then, but I can now. Jean-Claude would go crazy on cocaine. The studio hired him a person to watch him, but unfortunately he was a bad influence," said a screenwriter from the production.
"Van Damme would call saying he was sick so often that he had to look in the script to find other things to shoot, we couldn't just stop. On two occasions, the producers let him go to Hong Kong, and both times he was late. On Mondays he wouldn't even show up."
