Solo Sikoa (30) suffered a rare loss on Friday night's WWE SmackDown against a wrestler that's 15 years his senior. Veteran AJ Styles (45) scored an unexpected win, though it happened in a way he's likely not thrilled about... via DQ after Roman Reigns interfered and attacked him with a big assault.
Solo Sikoa's first pinfall loss on the 'main roster' happened on RAW before WrestleMania 39 to Cody Rhodes. LA Knight is another star who defeated him, two months ago (with Reigns also interfering), but this time, was Sikoa's most controversial loss on SmackDown.
Solo Sikoa, Roman Reigns' protegé whom he even dubs "The Tribal Heir", has been constantly shielded by Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This time, however, it cost him big. While Reigns was trying to help Sikoa, he actually made things worst and handed the DQ win to one of his potential 2024 Wrestlemania opponents.
Styles, Knight and Orton put a messy end to SmackDown
It has been announced that AJ Styles, LA Knight, or Randy Orton will face off to determine who gets a chance to potentially dethrone 'Tribal Chief' Roman Reigns.
Friday's SmackDown main event was then hijacked by Randy Orton and LA Knight, who forced 'The Bloodline' (Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa) to exit the ring. What followed was a very messy brawl that served as a preview of what's to come. Knight, Styles and Orton will face off in two weeks at New Year's Resolution for the #1 contendership for the Universal title.
