GORGEOUS SHRIMPGOBY
Common in coarse sand at scuba depths. Inhabits burrows with the commensal shrimp Alpheus.
Broad red bands with blue flecks and narrower white or yellow bars.
Amblyeleotris fasciata has narrow red bars and yellow-orange spots
on white interspaces. Attains 3.5 inches. Red Sea to
Japan, Micronesia, and Fiji. |
