Three Brothers of Grugith burial chamber at Zoar, a couple of miles northwest of Coverack on the Lizard peninsula of Cornwall.

There are lots of other large stones around this site.

The monument lies in an inverted triangle of ground, with roads on all three sides. The garage at Zoar lies in the top left corner. The easiest way to reach the quoit is to park at the base of the triangle (close to numerous hut circles) and walk back up, taking the right (east) fork. Two thirds of the way up a well-trodden track leads off the road straight to the quoit, which can easily be seen in a cleared area ahead of you.

From hamish. "This is a b*&$%£ to find and the legs will never be the same again. Whoever introduced me to megalith hunting beware. The people at the garage looked on me as someone in need of care, and when I was stumbling through the gorse and heather I could see them pointing and laughing. So drive past the garage and take the first right park as soon as possible. Walk slowly down the right hand side of the road 'till you see a vague path ,this leads straight to the chamber. I did it differently and nearly broke my leg a few times. However, endevour in your quest and you will be rewarded by this great place."

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : Visitors to the site may find this tip useful. The car is tucked in tight on a layby to N of the eastern road of the triangle. I'd passed it with someone tailing me, ending up in St Keverne, then came back, turned down the western road 'til I'd passed the triangle's junction at south. Then decided to try the eastern road, and relieved to see this easy spot. Just take care when pulling out agai...

Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : Access through the hedge to the Three Brothers area of scrub-land is here. (At least, that's the one I found.) You can just see where the vegetation's been separated at an angle from lower left centre. I parked in a layby at N of the eastern road of the triangle that has the garage at the top.

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : The lowest, largest stone forming the portal dolmen looks as if it is all in one piece, though from a distance it is like two separate ones.

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : A bit further away again, this stone looks fashioned into an angular shape. From Google Earth there appear to be possible circles in the triangle that contains the Three Brothers of Grugith.

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : This large angular stone to the approx south of the portal dolmen has a kind of 'basin' on its western edge.

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : This huge stone lying on the ground is to the approx west of the portal dolmen. Too many shapely stones to be a coincidence?? Maybe even circles here??

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : There are several large suspicious-looking stones between me and the portal dolmen, making me wonder if the Three Brothers was just one of a few stony 'erections'. Overlooking the site it appears there could be one or more huge circles here, possibly with the dolmen in the centre of one.

Three Brothers of Grugith
Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by AngieLake : Walking towards the Three Brothers of Grugith from the eastern road that forms the triangle of scrubby moorland ground. Lots of other stones lie around this site, making me wonder if something much bigger was going on here.

Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by OldBloke : Directions as per Hamish's from a couple of years ago, on the B3293 from Helston. The garage & coaches behind it have ZOAR in large letters. The garage doesn't sell savlon or lanacane .. they'd do a roaring trade if they did. Myself and 'raspberry ripple legs' are still glad we made the trip. Her border collie will eventually like us again, one day. (3 comments)

Three Brothers of Grugith submitted by OldBloke : We finally found the 'Three Brothers' this year. More people ( lots more people ) should visit & pay their respects ~ then the 'path' wouldn't be so painful. If CASPN take on caring for this site, I doubt they'll arrive in shorts & sandals.

The garage wasn't mentioned, so this may be another site?

Re: Three Brothers of Grugith Big Gorse fire around stones? by AngieLake on Monday, 26 April 2021

I can't be sure if this is the actual megalithic site that is shown in this news item, but one of the photos shows stones that may well be the Three Brothers of Grugrith:

It would be interesting to see if there are other significant areas of the site now exposed by the fire if you're over that way.
Too far for you Bladup??

      Ha!ha!! You'd be ok in thigh-length waders. :-)
Be interesting to see what you find if you're allowed on the site.

With the thickness and sharpness of all the thorny stuff, the adders have probably got more sense than us. There are comfortable looking fields nearby ..

If I'd known about the adders, I'd have been reticent. As it was, I tromped through the fierce gorse with aplomb.

Re: Three Brothers of Grugith by Anonymous on Monday, 28 April 2003
I tried visiting here in April 2003; I didn't find them, but having asked at the National Garage, they are somewhere on the triangle of ground to the rear and south of the garage. The gorse is deep, and beware of adders too. These factors deterred me from searching too hard; perhaps a winter or early spring visit would be best. Tim Prevett.
