Francesca Simonite is a visual artist and educator currently residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Francesca possesses a BA in Studio Art, an MA in Teaching from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and an MFA in Photography from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York. She is adjunct faculty at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and teaches sculpture, art 101, drawing & painting 1, 2D animation, and digital art and design at Franklin High School. Francesca has worked on selected commissions for the University Health System’s design enhancement for level five and twelve of the Women and Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, Texas as well as the Black Box Fund, “Get Out the Vote” campaign in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Francesca participated in the year-long MARN Mentors program as a mentee under Nirmal Raja in 2021. While pursuing her MFA, Francesca was awarded a graduate teaching fellowship. Her work has been recognized by Photographer’s Forum, Trinity University, Rountree Gallery and the School for International Training. She participated in a month-long artist residency in Ilhabela, Brazil. Francesca’s work has been exhibited in Texas, New York, Kentucky, Seattle, Wisconsin and is included in the University Hospital Collection in San Antonio, Texas.
