BUENA VISTA TWP. — Buena Vista Township-based Duro-Last Roofing on Tuesday announced Thomas L. Saeli is taking over as the company's chief executive officer.
Saeli was recently the chief executive officer of Noble International and vice president of corporate development for
.
said Saeli's experience involves growing companies through acquisitions, joint ventures and sales increases. He has a Master's of Business Administration in finance and accounting from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Hamilton College.
“Tom was the unanimous choice for our Board of Directors,” Duro-Last board chairman Jack Burt said in a release. “My father was a classic entrepreneur, and his vision, ambition, and business philosophy brought great success to our company."
Burt said Duro-Last is confident Saeli will provide excellent leadership for Duro-Last and the other businesses in the John R. Burt Enterprises family of companies.
In addition to overseeing Duro-Last, Saeli will head up the operations of sister companies Plastatech Engineering, Oscoda Plastics, Tip-Top Screw Manufacturing, Energy Solutions Insulation, and JRB Personnel.
The company produces prefabricated, single-ply roofing systems used on the flat and low-sloped roofs of businesses, schools and other commercial buildings. Duro-Last’s reflective white roofing membrane, known as the Cool Zone, has been given the Energy Star seal by the Environmental Protection Agency and reduces energy consumption by lowering the roof-top temperature by as much as 42 degrees in some cases, the company said. The lower roof-top temperature means a reduction in indoor cooling costs.
