Marshall Motor Group, has announced the appointment of Peter Johnson as a non-executive director, effective from 1st March 2014.
Welcoming the appointment, Daksh Gupta, Chief Executive of Marshall Motor Group said: “This is a fantastic appointment for Marshall and I am delighted that we will have such a significant motor industry figure joining the board of our parent company. I have known Peter personally for 15 years, since we were both at Inchcape and more recently through the National Franchised Dealers Association. His deep understanding of the industry and Marshall will be invaluable to our shareholders as we move into the next phase of our strategy in Marshall Motor Group.”
Peter Johnson returns to Marshall with a wealth of industry experience. Johnson held Managing Director (European and North American Operations) and Worldwide Sales Director roles at Rover Group in 1980s. Johnson moved to Inchcape in 1995 as Chief Executive of Inchcape Motors Retail before being promoted to Chief Executive Inchcape Motors International in 1996, Group Chief Executive in 1999 and Chairman in 2006. He is Chairman of the National Franchised Dealer Association.
