This incredible inaugural Quixotic release – a set bottled exclusively for Must Have Malts – features two Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys that symbolize the legend of the phoenix: perishing in the flames, only to get reborn again, stronger and more fiery than ever before.
RARE & MYTHICAL: THE FIRE
The first expression in the set, named The Fire, is an incredibly well-aged bourbon that is smooth and mellow, yet powerful at the same time. It was distilled in 1994 and matured for 24 years, before being bottled at 94.8 proof. And just like the phoenix, it lived a life of fire…
RARE & MYTHICAL: THE REBIRTH
The second bourbon, The Rebirth, is a 13-year-old single barrel Heaven Hill. This fiery bourbon was distilled in 2009 and bottled at a barrel strength of 129.6 proof. It definitely packs a punch! Expect powerful notes of oaky dryness, orchard fruits, spices and tannins. Just like the phoenix, Heaven Hill rose up from its ashes after their 1930s era distillery burned to the ground in 1996.

The set comes in a beautifully designed box with display plinth, in which the two bourbons can be displayed. Quixotic Spirits is a brand-new independent bottler from the Netherlands that aims to capture the spirit of the distillers and whiskey makers who dare to get a little crazy in order to succeed. Their releases are an homage to the mad hatters, the pioneers and the quixotic spirits that have made our world not as it is, but as it should be.
