Day of Hope

“A Day of Hope for Sarah Amento” will be held throughout the city of Yucaipa on May 17th to help Amento’s friends and family send her oversees to treat her rare form of cancer.

Sarah is a happily married mother of five. In 2013 she was diagnosed with stage three triple negative breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy in December 2013 and then over 30 rounds of radiation.

In March, she received the news that the cancer has spread throughout her body and is inoperable.

In January, the family appeared on the Ellen Show and told their story. The News-Mirror ran a story following that airing.

Friends and family have organized the "Day of Hope" with hopes of raising funds for Sarah to travel to Austria, where there is a treatment plan for her rare form of cancer.

But first, tomorrow, May 10,  a yoga fundraiser is planned for 10 a.m. at the Yoga Room, 721 Nevada Street in Redlands. Minimum donation is $10, 100 percent will go to the Amento family; and at 3:30pm Yucaipa Dance's Stacey Ordaz will lead a parent/child dance class.  $10 for adults & $5 for children all donations go to the Amento Family.
