The Gate House Theatre is pleased to present the third annual North Island Music Festival, hosted in Port McNeill at Centennial Park on Aug. 26.

Beginning at 12 p.m. with a First Nations welcoming ceremony, the day will provide no less than 15 individual performances with a total of 65 musicians bringing their talents to our little community.

“The focus of the North Island Music Festival has always been to create a family friendly community gathering,” said the Gate House in a statement to media. “This year you can expect to see a much larger investment in children’s activities with a large complement of bouncy houses and a dedicated children’s performer in the late afternoon. All of our significant crafters will be in attendance with their amazing creations, as well as a full complement of food vendors.”

Once again, the Gate House has partnered with the Broughton Curling Club to provide a well-stocked beer garden.

“It’s worth noting that this festival is supported entirely by the generosity of our local business community and the energy and commitment of approximately 80 volunteers,” stated the Gate House. “This year’s festival will also host an exciting live auction tent, as well as a 50-50 draw that will have three separate draws throughout the day.”

“We hope you will come out to support this worthwhile community gathering,” the Gate House added. “All proceeds that come from the North Island festival go directly to help sustain the Gate House Theatre, and all of the programs that we deliver throughout the year to help promote arts and culture in our North Island community.”
