The Majder brand is built on a true belief - the fashion design journey becomes uniquely routed if you start with a piece of art. The distinctive signature of Majder designs is to produce unisex, bespoke, expressive ‘ARTWEAR’ garments via a sustainable process.
The brand was created and developed by artist Barbara Majder in London (and more recently nurtured from the Canary Islands) following a successful career in fashion and modelling. Feeling deeply influenced by artists such as Hilma af Klint and Mark Rothko Barbara previously expressed her ideas on canvas. It was a course in modern art and ideas at the MoMA in 2020 that became the catalyst driving ‘#ARTWEAR’ - the principle that art should instead be worn.

‘I am first and foremost a painter. However, having been involved in fashion for over 7 years on campaigns including work with designers such as Gucci, top fashion magazines and fast fashion brands I developed a unique insight into the ethics of the industry. I saw an exciting opportunity to merge my artistic expression with fashion as a vehicle.’

Her hand selected garments have now become the canvas, each unique piece created on sustainable high quality cottons or linen.

In a world where customers have become far more conscious of the need for ethical materials and manufacturing processes, Majder hand painted bespoke garments deliver.
