While many people are criticizing Jesse James‘ alleged mistress, Michelle (Bombshell) McGee, the tattoo model’s father has come to her defense.

Denny McGee, a barber in Ohio, spoke to Fox 8 about his daughter’s purported 11-month affair with Sandra Bullock‘s husband, who apparently assured the model that he had separated from his wife of nearly five years.

“[James said], ‘They have a thing now where they kind of live apart and she’s on the scene for movies in stuff, and I’m here in San Diego,'” Denny said.

After seeing James, 40, and Bullock, 45, together at the Oscars awards in early March, Denny says his daughter became enraged.

“She was under the impression they weren’t seeing each other,” he told the news station. “She felt [betrayed] … she felt like she was going to have a relationship and this happened and she was mad.”

McGee, 32, apparently took her anger to In Touch Weekly, where she gave a detailed account of her torrid affair with the bad boy biker. According to Us Weekly, she was paid $30,000 to sell her scandalous story.

“I don’t think she’s had contact with Jesse James [since then],” the model’s father said. “I don’t think they’re on speaking terms right now. She’s more or less taking up her own business right now, and she’s not really concerned about Jesse and Sandra right now.”

According to Denny, his daughter is “doing great” despite being in seclusion at the moment. Bullock has also been hiding out at her pre-marital Hollywood Hills mansion, RadarOnline.com reports.

Denny also goes on to clear the assumption that she’s a homewrecker who destroyed the marriage of America’s Sweetheart.

“The truth of the matter is, going into this whole thing with Jesse James, Michelle was single, and she was under the assumption that Jesse was single,” he said. “As far as I’m concerned, they were two single people going out with each other, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”

McGee is the first of four women who have come forward with tawdry tales of alleged affairs with James. Following her lead, Melissa Smith, Bridgette Daguerre and an unidentified fourth woman have all emerged with evidence of their relationships with the married man.

If given the opportunity to speak to James, Denny said he wouldn’t want to say anything to him.

“I don’t have anything against Jesse personally,” he said. “He’s a hardworking guy who built up his business. I just wish he’d been honest with my daughter from the beginning so this never would have happened.”
