Halle Berry and her model boyfriend have called it quits.
The Oscar-winning actress and Gabriel Aubry, a Canadian model and the father of Berry’s 2-year-old daughter, announced Friday that they were breaking up.
“While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time,” Aubry said in a statement to “Access Hollywood.”
Neither would comment on reports that their age difference was a factor in their split. Berry is 43 and Aubry is 34.
“She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known,” Aubry said. “And I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another.”
The stunning couple met in February 2006 at the opening for a Versace store in Manhattan. Aubry and twice-divorced Berry have vowed to put the best interests of their daughter, Nahla, ahead of everything else.
“Her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us,” Aubry said. “Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”
Sources said the couple have agreed to share custody of their daughter.
Berry wasn’t letting the breakup slow her down yesterday, co-hosting the 13th Annual EIF/Revlon Run/Walk for Women in Times Square with fellow Revlon Brand ambassadors Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba.
“I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here,” said Berry, according to People magazine.
