Armand Assante’s stunner sweetie — who allegedly racked up $40,000 in clothing purchases on Josh Brolin’s credit card and shoplifted from Saks Fifth Avenue — insisted Thursday she had been set up.
“I am being accused of something I didn’t do. Now I’m dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder because of what happened to me,” said Giselle Oliveira, the Brazilian gal pal of the “Mambo Kings” star said after a brief appearance in Manhattan Supreme Court in which she says she’s hired a new lawyer.
Oliveira, 34, was cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security, and insists she’s the victim of a Hollywood-like plot.
She told investigators she was forced to steal nearly $10,000 in designer items from the luxe department store and also blames unidentified operators for stealing from the “No Country For Old Men” leading man.
“I never met him … I don’t even know him,” she said of Brolin.
He also does not recall ever meeting Oliveira, a source said.
“I feel like they were not really chasing the right people and the real people should be chased,” Oliveira griped.
“I am just a simple person who comes from a farm in Brazil.”
“People take advantage of you when you’re naive,” she said.
Assante did not accompany Oliveira to court but she called him once she stepped out of the courthouse in tan pumps and a dark form-fitting skirt.
She allegedly told investigators she stole because “a Hispanic man named J… threatened to show my boyfriend naked pictures of me with another man.”
“I don’t even like care about luxury. Armand and I lead a very simple life.”
Oliveira allegedly cut the security tags off nearly $10,000 in merchandise at Saks on Oct. 10 and made repeated Ideeli.com charges to Brolin’s American Express account between October 2010 and January 2013.
She is free on $10,000 bail and lives with Assante in Campbell Hall, N.Y.
She faces up to seven years in prison on the top count in each case.
