Secret overnight military operations at Los Angeles International Airport will force flights to fly over homes for the next seven noisy nights, airport officials said Friday.
Thousands of residents who live near the busy California airport will need to brace for the expected blare from passing planes this week as the military occupies the airspace over the ocean to the west.
The route over the Pacific is where flights usually arrive and depart to minimize noise for nearby sleeping homeowners.
Flights will be deviated from midnight to 6:30 a.m. during the military’s mysterious planned activity. LAX officials only said it would last until Nov. 12.
“As a result, persons living near the airport may notice a change in aircraft flight activity and associated noise,” LAX said in a statement.
