 Recognition
  • a herbaceous perennial plant up to 35 cm high that spreads from robust, vigorous rhizomes and has orange roots.
  • its leaves are broad, glaucous, fleshy and rounded with a shallowly toothed margin.
  • its inflorescence is an erect and open terminal panicle with 3-5 flowers.
  • its flowers are about 50 mm across and have 4 large white petals and a bright golden-yellow center.
  • its capsule is narrow and about 2 cm long.
