News reports said he paid $8.4 million for the 4,088-square-foot house. According to the Los Angeles Times, he sold it in December for $12 million to talk-show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres.

According to the New York Daily News, the quarter-acre property is in a nature preserve, surrounded on three sides by ocean.
