Columbine is a traditional English cottage garden plant. It grows best on humus rich soil in light shade, but it is not overly particular.

The Barlow series was originally bred for cut flower production, but we think it makes an excellent addition to the part shade garden. Ferny foliage is topped by short spurred double flowers in a deep, nearly black shade.

Tip: These promiscuous plants will send forth a profusion of mixed up seedlings if not grown in isolation.

WARNING: May cause minor vomiting or stomach upset if ingested.
