These are tough, sun-loving, mostly US natives that can be divided into two main groups: Evening Primroses (night bloomers) and Sundrops or Suncups (day bloomers).

'Sulphurea' falls into the night blooming group. It is a short-lived perennial that is easy to grow in just about any soil in full sun. Large, incredibly fragrant saucer shaped flowers call in the night pollinators. Plant it near a patio where you can enjoy the fragrance in the evenings. The lemon yellow-fading-to-apricot blooms are held on red stems above an intriguing rosette of evergreen lance-shaped bronze-blue-green leaves.
