Former Georgia football linebacker Nolan Smith recorded his first NFL sack in the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night.

Smith, a rookie selected 30th overall by the Eagles in April, had just two career tackles entering NBC's "Sunday Night Football" game in Philadelphia, but already has two tackles and a sack against the Dolphins.

The Savannah, Georgia, native started eight games for the Bulldogs in 2022 before suffering a season-ending torn pectoral muscle against Florida. Smith played at Georgia from 2019 to 2022, finishing college with 11.5 career sacks and 113 total tackles.

The IMG Academy graduate was a five-star recruit in 2019, rated as the nation's No. 4 player and top-ranked edge rusher, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Smith was also 247Sports' 20th-ranked recruit of all time and the second-highest in Georgia football history.

The 6-foot-2, 238-pound defender is one of six former Bulldogs — Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Kelee Ringo, Jordan Davis, D'Andre Swift — on the Eagles' roster and was teammates with each of them.
