Common Name The Fleshy Lipped Pleurothallis

Found in Guatemala, Chontales department of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Veraguas rovince of Panama at elevations of 500 to 650 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 short tubular sheaths and another larger, tubular sheath below the middle and carrying a single, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, cuneate below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and summer on a laterally from near the apex of the ramicaul, through a slender spathe, on a .4" [1 cm] long, successively 2 flowered inflorescence with as long as the ovary floral bracts.

Vegetatively the smallest species in the subgenus, it is readily distinguished by the small elliptical, shortly petiolate leaves , the short drooping, successively 2 flowered inflorescence with large fleshy flowers, verrucose petals with lamellae within, and a large, white, bulbous, protruding lip nearly as large as the synsepal.
