The Dish: Saturday brunch catching on at island eateries
Saturday brunch may not be a decades-long tradition like its Sunday counterpart, but it’s gaining traction on the island.
A handful of restaurants currently serve Saturday brunch with a variety of traditional brunch and lunch items — from omelets and French toast to sandwiches, burgers and entrees. Almost always included: chilled shellfish — oysters, stone crab claws and more — which often are market-priced because the cost of fresh seafood can fluctuate.
Among the first to offer Saturday brunch in Palm Beach was Café Boulud at The Brazilian Court in 2006; brunch is 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Appetizers, which start at $15 for Anson Mills stoneground oatmeal with raisins, include celeriac velouté and smoked Scottish salmon.
“Café classics,” starting at $22, include Cobb salad and Maine lobster roll. Mediterranean seabass is among the entrees, which start at $21.
