Always happy when I stumble into a photo thread from Pete.. :)

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

What a beauty pete, how big did you get and how long have you had that in the ground pete

Very small from Maria's long ago, it would be much larger if it had more light from the start, and if I fertilised yrs ago like I do now it would be gang busters :)

Paul, I just answered yr Qs in yr pm, all best with it.

Len, yes Im so glad I got what I did yrs ago, and Im "forever grateful" to Maria and John Lyle for for getting the seed, germinating it, growing it, and "of course" selling them to me. btw, your wording of golden ages shows Im "ageing" :) Ive said it B4 but will again , Ncal palm are "tough" I can say this as the "rare gems" all went in very small and even though growth seemed "non eventful" up top for years the roots where very busy at it.

Thanks Andrew, yes Im keen, but have had "long breaks " from Palms in the past.

Thanks Akamu, all best with your palms.

Pete :)
