North Turner Mountain, Maine

Atop South Turner you can catch a good view of North Turner, which has no trail to the summit. I was initially planning on bushwhacking the ridge to get to the north summit, but the vegetation looked brutal. I would recommend hiking up to Twin Ponds and whacking the final section up to the summit, which would entail a 19 mile day from the Katahdin Lake Trailhead. A tough peak, to be sure, but it looks exposed at the summit and good views on a bushwhack can be especially rewarding - best of luck to anyone who tries to summit it! (2023-08-31).
