Forms a rounded cushion of dense vegetation, covered in melliferous, shiny, golden-yellow flowers in April-May. Little narrow leaves of 1cm long, dark green, with a downy underside. The thorny branches are good ground cover, even in winter. Vigorous, growth is rapid. Ideal for rock gardens, banks, borders and flowerbeds. This mediterranean plant is resistant to dry weather and will grow in any well drained soil, even poor and chalky.
